City Apartment Restyle

Client Brief

The client wanted to freshen up the living area of the apartment. The style was Modern Contemporary  with Mid-Century Influences.

They wanted a modern, curated, and welcoming interior concept — stylish enough to feel designer, but warm enough to feel like home.

The mix of textures, natural materials, and contemporary lines creates a balanced, cohesive look that suits a wide range of Australian homes.

Lounge, Study and Dining

The mood is clean, curated, and design‑forward, blending modern simplicity with the warmth and character of mid‑century elements. It feels stylish yet liveable — the kind of space that’s both functional and visually engaging.

1. Warm, Natural Materials

The timber console, wooden coffee table, and warm-toned desk bring in that organic, mid‑century feel. These pieces soften the modern lines and add a grounded, earthy warmth.

2. Clean, Modern Silhouettes

The sofa and armchair have simple, structured shapes that lean contemporary. Their clean lines keep the look fresh and uncluttered.

3. Mid‑Century Accents

Elements like the ribbed leather chair, tapered legs, and rounded‑edge furniture nod to classic mid‑century design without feeling retro.

4. Soft, Layered Textures

The mix of cushions — patterned, embroidered, textured — adds depth and personality. This layering is what makes the space feel styled rather than staged.

5. Balanced Colour Palette

The palette blends warm neutrals (tan, cream, timber) with cool accents (blue rug, patterned cushions). This creates harmony and keeps the look visually interesting.

6. Touches of Black & Gold

The black sideboard, lamp, and abstract artwork add contrast and sophistication, while the gold mirror and lamp details introduce a subtle luxe element.
